The Tx500-1800 Series are 72-inch wide high-speed printers for the fabric and textile industry. The DS (direct sublimation) model can print at speeds of up to 1615 SqFt/Hr for production printing onto pre-treated polyester fabrics. It features a degassing module that enables the printer to use 2 liter bottled inks instead of conventional degassed ink packs, reducing costs. The B (belt) model features a conveyor system to ensure stable feeding of materials on stretchy fabrics.
High Speed Printing
The Tx500-1800 dye sublimation inkjet printer can print at high speeds up to 1615 SqFt/Hr (150 SqM/h) for the DS model, and up to 1507 SqFt/Hr (140 SqM/Hr) for the B model. The print heads are arranged in a staggered configuration, producing a larger print swath and enabling faster production speeds.
Reactive dye inks* yield excellent wash- and light-fastness for applications such as home furnishings. Reactive dyes can print to pretreated natural fabrics such as cotton, silk, linen and rayon. Mimaki RC300 reactive dye inks can be used on the B (belt) model. Dye sublimation inks** yield vibrant colors and can print directly to pretreated polyester fabrics. Mimaki Sb300 sublimation dye inks can be used on the B (belt) or the DS (direct sublimation) model.
*Requires pretreated fabric and a steaming process to set the pigments.
**Requires a transfer process to set the pigments.
The advantage of variable drop printing is most apparent when printing color gradations in light or pastel colors. In addition, variable drop printing delivers fine, high resolution prints that are less granular by jetting two different ink drop sizes at a time.
A degassing process is required for manufacturing conventional pouched ink. An embedded system – the Mimaki Degassing Module (MDM-20) – enables the printer to use 2 liter bottled inks instead of conventional degassed ink packs, reducing costs.
Utilizing the UISS (Uninterrupted Ink Supply System) when one bottle is emptied, the printer automatically switches to the full container of the same color to deliver continuous imaging.
The TX500 series fits in the soft signage market, as well as textiles, such as apparel and furnishings. Thus, the applications are ranging from banners, flags, interior design, furnishings and garments.
